Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

1. Introduction

At Financho, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have when you use our personal-finance education and planning platform. Because Financho lets you enter sensitive financial information, please read this policy together with our Terms of Service. By using Financho you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

To provide the service, we collect the following types of information:

  • Account information. Email address and basic profile information via Firebase Authentication.
  • Financial planning data you enter. Account balances, income, expenses, debts, holdings, assumptions, goals, scenarios, and similar inputs. This may include sensitive financial details. We do not ask for and you should not enter full bank account numbers, card numbers, or government identifiers.
  • AI assistant interactions. The questions you ask and the plan context used to answer them.
  • Emergency Access data. If you enable the feature, the Emergency Roadmap you create and records of any access request, including the requester’s email and timestamps.
  • Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Whop. We do not collect or store your full payment-card details; Whop processes payments and shares limited transaction and subscription-status information with us.
  • Usage and device data. We log basic usage events (such as pages viewed, dwell time, and a session identifier) and standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to operate, secure, and improve the service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Calculate and project your financial scenarios and run the planning tools you request.
  • Provide informational guidance through the Digital Coach and AI assistant.
  • Help you track your progress toward your goals.
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
  • Process subscriptions and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. Service Providers & Third Parties

We share information with third-party service providers who process data on our behalf to run the service. These currently include:

  • Google Firebase — authentication and identity.
  • Vercel — application hosting and infrastructure.
  • Neon — database hosting for saved plans and related data.
  • Google (Gemini) and Anthropic (Claude) — AI providers that process your questions and relevant plan data to power the AI assistant and AI-generated content.
  • Whop — payment processing and subscription management.
  • Market and financial-data vendors — to retrieve security and market data for the portfolio and related features.

We do not sell your personal or financial information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

5. AI Processing

When you use AI features, the questions you ask and the relevant portions of your plan are sent to third-party AI providers (currently Google and Anthropic) to generate a response. We send only what is needed to answer your request and do not use these providers to advertise to you. Those providers process the data under their own terms; we do not control their independent practices. Please avoid entering information in the AI assistant that you would not want processed by a third-party AI provider.

6. Emergency Access Data Sharing

If you enable Emergency Access (“Break Glass”), you direct us to make your household data and Emergency Roadmap available to a person who later presents your code and completes the waiting period. We do not verify that person’s identity or authority. Enabling this feature is your decision and authorizes that disclosure; keep your code confidential. See the Terms of Service for the full terms of this feature.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the service — for example, to keep you signed in via secure session cookies — and we record basic usage analytics (such as pages viewed and time on page) to understand and improve how the product is used. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account or data, we remove it from our active systems; residual copies may persist for a limited period in backups, logs, or with service providers before being overwritten or deleted, and we may retain limited information where required for legal, tax, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard administrative and technical safeguards — including encryption in transit and reputable infrastructure providers such as Firebase, Vercel, and Neon — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and any Emergency Access code.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You can access, update, or delete your financial data at any time through the platform. If you delete your account, your associated planning data is removed from our active systems as described above.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. California residents (under the CCPA/CPRA) may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information and may exercise these rights without discrimination; we do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined. Residents of the EEA/UK may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of their personal data. To exercise any right, contact us at the address below; we will verify and respond as required by law.

11. Children’s Privacy

Financho is not directed to children and is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. International Users

Financho is operated from the United States and intended for U.S. residents. If you access it from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “last updated” date, and will provide additional notice of material changes where appropriate.
